Vladislav Pinchuk

Ukraine, Kiev

I was born (1982) as well as studied and married in Kiev. I am not at all a townee. Until 14 I went to the countryside every year to enjoy myself. Sometimes I want to do it right now: to climb a mulberry tree and watch the surroundings while eating the berries.

I was a good pupil at school but hated physics and chemistry. At the same time I was attending a musical school (viola and in addition piano lessons). It was my independent wish without realizing what was beyond it. But I never regretted. First of all, it was a good school of life since besides playing I learned hard work and controlling myself in public (we had concerts four times a year in presence of our teachers and parents). Later I mastered the guitar and still play the guitar for myself.

After school I entered the Institute of International Relations in Kiev and was awarded the Bachelor title in the area of international law as well as the title of a Spanish interpreter. I fell in love with this country after leaving school when I went there to live with a local family. I made good contacts there and went there often with my wife and sister. I love the Spanish for their ability to enjoy life the way it is. Besides Spain, I visited some other European countries, although these were mostly short bus tours. Anyway, travelling and discovering new worlds for myself is up to me.

When studying at the institute it occurred to me that instead of putting down the lectures with a pen and feeling the fingers with pain, I could use a laptop and type at a high speed (I mastered touch-typing at school). Among other advantages is the digital format which was later used for making all sorts of cribs circulating round all the students. They even started ignoring the lectures being aware that all the texts could be borrowed from me. My first laptop was an old IBM with a passive matrix display and out-of-date components. It was the best technical device which helped me a lot and brought about a lot of memorable moments.

I work in the Ministry of Law of Ukraine. I'm involved in European Law.

I like sports at an amateur level. I am keen on psychology and identifying the potential of people who don't have an area to apply their abilities. Generally, I try to be interested in everything and to be interesting to other people. Sometimes I do daring things (I proposed to my future wife on a balloon).
