Oleg OmelchenkoI am 16 and a first-year student of a college of communications and information technologies after A.S.Popov. I’m very fond of reading fiction (especially books by John Tolkien) and taking photographs. I’ve probably known about typing since I was born. One of the brightest moments from my childhood – in the mid-nineties and I, a four-year-old, was staying with my Godfather who owned a rare at that time computer and was tapping merrily on the keyboard with all my fingers. I don’t remember how I learned about people capable of typing very fast, but as long as I can remember, I’ve always known they exist. I also suppose that I took over the ability of touch-typing from my father. When my father was serving in the communication forces of the Army, he had to learn touch-typing (the ability itself was more important than the speed). He probably told me about it when I was a little child. As soon as I got a computer, he insisted that I learn touch-typing,, which I am very grateful to him for. Since 2008 I’ve tried at least 4 times to manage “SOLO on a keyboard”.At last in April 2010 I went it through to the end. However, it wasn’t the event which influenced the development of my skill. In May 2010 I registered under the nickname olegwin2000 (later - Uncle_Sam) on klavogonki.ru and have been with them since then. During that period my speed has increased from 200 to 500 cpm on 300-symbol-long texts, and also to 470 cpm on a 5 minutes’ distance. At present I’m absorbed in studying the English layout and am planning to study the layouts of other languages.

I’m doing my best to improve my skills. I wish you all every success.
