I began to touch-type quite long ago. Once in the Book House in Arbat street I bought '' A solo on a
keyboard" by V.V.Shakhidzhanyan. I still keep the book with the autograph of the author. This is how
it all started.
In my free time I studied lessons in the Lexicon program. Later I learned Latin typing by myself.
Last year, having nothing to do, I decided to test how quickly I could type texts and found some sites
in the Internet where fast-typing contests were held. I was interested and at once joined the
participants. Since then I have greatly improved my skills and got acquainted with wonderful people,
because now I also take part in team competitions.
As a creative person, I constantly write something, communicate on-line with people from different
countries. Touch-typing is very helpful in shaping your idea clearly on the screen and getting it
through to your interlocutor (I'm joking, of course). However, as one questionnaire asked:
«How often do you surf the Internet? (tick the correct answer):
1. What's that?
2. Seldom, when I really have to.
3. Several times a week.
4. Every day.
5. I live in it».
The last answer is just about me. That's why touch-typing is vital to me. Now that I manage to do more, I've got more time for my hobbies.
In my spare time I enjoy flower-growing, reading (ordinary books, not electronical) and roller-blading.
